We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Safety, Health and Environmental Engineer in our Corporate business unit located in Vernon Hills, Illinois.

The Safety, Health and Environmental Engineer will develop, monitor, and support the implementation of safety and loss prevention programs for all U.S. based company locations to ensure a safe and healthy workplace that is in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations. Identify and drive injury prevention programs through safety performance analysis, risk evaluations, and accident investigations at company locations. Support companywide workers' compensation program, including coordination with line management on day to day claims' administration. Coordinate waste handling, storage, recycling and disposal arrangements for all company locations in the U.S.

Responsibilities:
1. Implement plans to ensure a proactive OSHA compliance program for all US locations, including the establishment of all related procedures, forms, training, audit checklists and reports.
2. Develop, implement and monitor the accident investigation process to address causative factors and eliminate/reduce future accidents
3. Develop, implement and monitor site-specific safety-training programs for "OSHA-required", "injury reduction" and "safety-motivational" training
4. Coordinate workers' compensation program for the handling of day to day workers' compensation activities through the local site personnel. Participate in the handling of lost-time cases through review with the workers' compensation carrier and supporting the local site personnel in the case management process.
5. Analyze safety performance information to identify and propose areas of improvement for reducing safety risks
6. Establish metrics for performance reporting and to monitor progress against safety goals and objectives
7. Partner with various departments at site locations to implement safety and workers' compensation programs
8. Chair safety committee at all applicable sites, developing meeting protocols, agendas and committee member participant guideline
9. Coordinate waste handling, storage and disposal arrangements for all company locations as per the company guidelines.
10. Support facilities in preparing and submitting environmental reports to agencies, as required
11. Assist company locations in other day to day environmental activities, as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in implementing safety, health and environmental program in an industrial manufacturing setting (lesser experience in the environmental area acceptable).
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with OSHA regulatory compliance, loss prevention and plant level waste management programs. Experience in workers' compensation program administration highly desirable
• Willing to travel (25+%)
• Experience in developing and delivering employee safety training courses and related employee communication
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, listening and presentation
• Able to establish working relationships with others at all levels
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
• Strong PC skills, including Microsoft office applications

Environmental Compliance Specialist: Candidate must have a minimum of five years experience in implementing environmental compliance programs for industry. Must be able to work on-site at a manufacturing facility implementing a compliance calendar, coordinate haz/non-haz waste shipments, conduct wastewater sampling, prepare air emission inventories, toxic release inventories, tier 2 reports, implement an SPCC program, implement a SWPPP program and perform weekly site walkthroughs. Must have a proven track record with industrial experience coupled with environmental compliance program implementation. Good communication and organizational skills are required. Environmental Compliance Specialist to implement environmental program at several manufacturing sites in the Milwaukee area.
